Venue & Schedule:

We will be meeting at the beautiful Hotel Azúr in Siófok, Hungary. Enjoy the hotel’s picturesque location on Lake Balaton providing a peaceful backdrop for your retreat experience, or enjoy the nearby attractions available around “The Hungarian Sea,” as it is locally known. Don’t miss the hotel’s expansive wellness center, featuring an indoor pool, whirlpool baths, and a variety of saunas, offering a perfect setting for relaxation and rejuvenation. (Take advantage of spa offerings as well for an additional cost.) For the children, there is also an indoor playground and a very popular snack and bowling bar.

We will meet for a short introductory session on Friday evening. Saturday and Sunday will be morning and afternoon sessions with your evenings free, and then a time of wrapping up and goodbyes on Monday morning. The children’s programming will be provided at these times so parents can fully engage (lunches will be parent supervised to ensure our staff has a rest in between). Evenings are free for time alone, family time spent together, exploring the lake, enjoying the hotel facilities, or hanging out with friends.

The price of registration includes the retreat, 3 nights stay at the hotel, breakfast and lunch on Saturday and Sunday, and breakfast on Monday.

  • Debriefing is the deliberate process of unpacking and processing your past field experiences with a facilitator for the purpose of understanding your story in a holistic and life-giving way so that you can transition well into whatever is next. Debriefing is not a substitute for counseling, clinical care, spiritual direction, or coaching, but may serve as an entry point into these avenues for growth and/or healing.

  • This retreat is for you if you are a cross-cultural worker in any season of life or ministry. We recommend time away to rest and reflect as a regular rhythm of spiritual health and vitality for you and your family members. It’s an investment in the long-term health and effectiveness of you, your family, your team, and the people you serve.

  • You can register above by clicking the link under the event. Please register by February 7th to secure your reservation! Limited spaces remaining!

  • If you cancel within 30 days of the event, 50% of your total registration will be refunded. If you cancel with less than 30 days notice, there is no refund in order to defray expenses incurred by Train for the hotel reservation.

    If for some reason TRAIN International cancels or changes the event in such a way that you are no longer able to attend, your entire registration will be refunded.

  • Yes, children of all ages are welcome! We will provide childcare for the smallest participants and facililated activities and games for elementary age and teens curated exactly for them. This is available during all of the sessions so parents are able to fully engage. Lunches and evenings are parent supervised.

  • Yes! The cost includes 3 nights stay and half board (breakfast and lunch) each day for all members of your family. Dinner is on your own.

  • The first day we will start with an opening session in the evening, but otherwise sessions typically run from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM with a long lunch break. Throughout the day you will engage in groups, take breaks, have time to connect with other participants and trainers, and time for personal reflection. On the last day, we will be finished before noon in order to leave you time for travel arrangements and checking out of the venue.

  • Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport (BUD) is an hour and 15 min drive from Hotel Azur.

  • There are public transportation options available directly from the airport by bus, metro, and train. The total trip can take 2-3 hours from the airport to the Siofok transit station 1 km from the Hotel Azur. It is best to use this trip planner as bus/metro/train numbers and times will vary depending on your departure day and time.

  • We are an independent and unaffiliated training, coaching, and debriefing organization.
